·
In April 2012 I exhibited some of my work at the Print source trade show
in New York
·
Also in April 2012 I worked with the well-known design company Hallmark on
one of their trends.
·
In February 2012 My surface designs for Fashion were exhibited at the Premier
Vision trade show Indigo in Paris
·
In October 2011 I worked alongside well known trend forecasting company
Trend Bible on one of their Interior trends.
Employment/ Work Experience:
I
currently work as a sales assistant at New Look Clothes Company. I really enjoy
my job as it relates to my interests in fashion and surface design.
I also
work casually as a Waitress for a conferencing and banqueting company called
Sodexo prestige at St James park football stadium, Newcastle.
As of yet I have no work experience within the
Fashion industry, and am very eager to find a job, work experience or an
internship relating to design.
In June
2012 I engaged in some voluntary work in a secondary school, helping the
students and giving one to one support, I also organised a textiles workshop
with the students. It was enjoyable however it helped me to realise my true
passion is to work within the design industry.
Interests:
I have
a passion for textiles and surface design, I love going to markets to collect
unusual textile related pieces such as broaches and pin cushions. I love
drawing and could spend a whole day with my sketchbook and pencil. I am
interested in latest fashion and interior trends therefore I read magazines
such as vogue, Elle and world of interiors. I also enjoy going to trade fairs
such as the great north contemporary craft fair, in Manchester just to see what
is currently out there and selling, and also for my own inspiration.
